Accessibility Statement

Compliance status
The www.plaza.it website is partially compliant with the accessibility requirements set out by EU Directive 2019/882 and WCAG 2.1 – Level AA, due to the following non-compliances or exceptions.

Non-accessible content
Images without alternative text: many informative images lack a descriptive alt attribute, or include it only in a generic form.
Videos and multimedia: absence of captions or text transcripts for the available videos and presentations.
Forms: input fields without explicit text labels (label), hard-to-read placeholders, and error messages not announced to screen readers.
Keyboard navigation: some sections and menus are activated only via mouse (hover) and are not fully usable with a keyboard.
Color contrast: text over images or colored backgrounds with insufficient contrast compared to WCAG standards.
Focus management: lack of a “skip to content” link; focus not always visible and not properly handled in popups/modals.
Semantic structure: inconsistent use of headings (H1–H6); ARIA landmarks missing or not implemented in some sections.§
Dynamic content (popups/promotions): changes not announced to screen readers; difficult to manage via keyboard.

Reason for non-compliance
The issues stem from:
lack of systematic accessibility verification procedures during development,
graphic and multimedia components designed without adequate support for assistive technologies,
predominant use of visual solutions (images, slideshows, videos) without textual or equivalent alternatives.

Remediation is in progress.
We are actively working to bring the site into compliance with accessibility standards. We have launched a technical and design review and planned an intervention roadmap to be completed within the timeframes required by the applicable regulations.

Accessible alternatives
At present, no textual alternatives or equivalent accessible versions are available for the multimedia contents and for some sections of the site.

Assessment methodology
This accessibility statement is based on an internal self-assessment carried out according to the criteria of the technical standard UNI EN 301549:2022, through the following activities:

Automated analysis of the site contents using tools such as Google Lighthouse and WAVE WebAIM
Manual inspection of the source code, interfaces, and critical navigation paths
Usability checks through keyboard navigation and compatibility tests with screen readers
Evaluation of compliance with the accessibility requirements set by WCAG 2.1 – Level AA
